When Fingers Become Tools: Rendering Virtual Tool Inertia with a Finger-Mounted Extending Rod
CHI 2026 · ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems
Hi all! I'm JJ Park, a human-computer interaction researcher working as a Research Associate at the HCIS Lab at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST).
Computing is expanding beyond interactions centered on flat displays toward experiences that encompass the user's body and surrounding space. This shift opens new possibilities for engaging with digital information not only by seeing and manipulating it, but also by feeling it through the body. My research explores haptic interfaces that connect human sensation with digital environments, enabling interactions in spatial computing to be translated into meaningful tactile experiences.
